What do you get when you combine these parts?
The team at Marginally Clever designed parts in multiple layers of wood. The best software we’ve found for this is Solidworks. Thankfully there’s a copy at the Vancouver Hack Space that we can use. Everything on top of the base is in the picture at the top of the post. The box on the bottom was made using [p2p type=”slug” value=”how-to-easily-create-a-box-with-finger-joints”]finger joints[/p2p] and cut on a separate sheet.
Aside: There’s two things we wish Solidworks could do automatically:
– take all the parts from a design and lay them out on a flat sheet.
– add an id code to every part after they’re laid out so that it’s easy to remember which part is which
